Gorillas are tracked year around. March to May and October to November are usually considered rainy months in Rwanda and Uganda but rain can happen at any time. Travel during the rainy season has it’s rewards. The birdlife is superior and the air is cleaner with wonderful vistas. To a trip to Rwanda you can add:

UGANDA: There is some gameviewing in Queen Elizabeth Park along with the famous Kazinga Channel, the Gorillas of Bwindi and chimpanzee visitations in Kibale Forest.

TANZANIA: If you travel to Rwanda in February, combine Rwanda and Tanzania to catch the migration in the Serengeti. If you travel to Rwanda in September or later, visit The Selous and Tarangire in Tanzania.

KENYA: Kenya is always good for gameviewing however the prime months would be August and September when the migration is in the Masai Mara. June, July are also good. We traveled in February this year and had wonderful gameviewing.

SOUTH AFRICA: Combine this destination with Rwanda June through November during their dry season.

ZAMBIA: Try a walking safari in this country in the months of July, August, September.

BOTSWANA: Combine Botswana with Rwanda during the months of June through early November.

These are generalities only. The only firm rule is that if you have a chance – GO!!!
