Gorilla Trekking Extension to Rwanda

This is the perfect add-on to an African Safari and can be done from Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa or Uganda.  

Day 1 - Arrive in Kigali, Rwanda where you will be met by your guide and transferred to either Gorillas Nest Lodge or Volcanoes Virunga Lodge. The remainder of the day to relax and adjust to the altitude.

Day 2 - Early morning start for Kinigi where you meet up with the trackers and are assigned to track one of the 7 gorilla families currently on visitation.

Day 3 - Today you can track again or hike up to the old Karisoke site on payment of supplement.

Day 4 - Transfer back to Kigali. Time permitting, go for a tour of the city including a visit to the market, a pottery project, a widow’s project selling quilts, handicraft shops, the Franco-Rwandan cultural centre and a genocide memorial. Transfer to the airport for your flight out.

Note: Tour and final price vary depending on lodging selected and number of gorilla permits. Flight arrangements may add a night in Kigali. Additional costs will be for visas if required, tips, airport taxes, and other items of a personal nature. This itinerary is dependent on the availability of gorilla permits.
